International Travel Certificates

We know that traveling internationally with a pet can be a confusing and stressful time for everyone involved. That is why the doctors and staff at West Alabama Animal Clinic work hard to provide outstanding services for you and your pet during this transition. Hanna will be your point of contact throughout the process. Please ask to speak with her directly.

The rules of international travel differ from country to country and sometimes change throughout the year. We ask that you be patient through the process as we assure you we are doing everything in our power to help get your pet to their final destination.

Although we are diligent about filling out the paperwork properly and filing forms in a timely manner, some requests are out of our control and therefore West Alabama Animal Clinic can not guarantee the success of your pet’s international transportation. If you would be more comfortable using an international transport service, we are glad to provide you with a list of trusted options.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Important Reminders

Things to keep in mind:

  • We can only assist with established travel plans with specific locations and dates.
  • It is your responsibility to provide all proper and necessary paperwork, as well as correct spelling of addresses and names.
  • Any misinformation provided to the veterinarian (such as the wrong destination address or not providing a current rabies certificate) can cause a delay in process and, in some cases, prevent your pet from traveling.
  • It normally takes up to three business days for a certificate to be endorsed and returned. The USDA is not open during the weekends.
